Schloss Leopoldskron with its associated Meierhof guesthouse was opened in 2014 to support the mission of its owner and operator, the non-profit organization Salzburg Global Seminar.
Schloss Leopoldskron is unique. It is a protected monument, but it is not a museum. It is a hotel, but also a social enterprise belonging to a non-profit organization. From Max Reinhardt to our Salzburg Global Fellows, it has long been home to people who drive change - and we hope that you, our hotel guests, will also feel at home here.
For almost 300 years, the Schloss has welcomed princes, presidents and artists as well as renowned experts among its guests - so you never know who you might meet at breakfast! Schloss Leopoldskron has also been the setting for exclusive events, Hollywood films, and peace conferences. Today it is a place where we welcome guests from all over the world. Schloss Leopoldskron is a private estate where our hotel guests, event visitors, and seminar participants can retreat from the hectic outside world. We occasionally offer guided tours, and in summer the park attracts many theatergoers as part of the annual "Shakespeare in the Park" performances.
With its fantastic location and incomparable views, Schloss Leopoldskron is one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Salzburg. It also serves as a backdrop for film shoots and fashion shows - famous examples include the classic film "The Sound of Music" and the Chanel presentation Métiers d'Art in 2014. If you would like to celebrate your dream day with us, our Events team would be happy to help you.
The preservation of this architectural landmark entails ongoing care and regular restoration work. We work closely with experts from the Federal Office for the Protection of Monuments, Climate Alliance Austria, and Fellows of Salzburg Global Seminar to both honor the history of Schloss Leopoldskron and secure its future.
When you stay in one of our 55 guestrooms or 12 suites, or host your wedding, event, or conference in our exclusive hideaway, or use the magnificent premises and seven-hectare castle park as a backdrop for a photo or film shoot, you are helping to shape a better world. We wish you a wonderful stay with us!
