Passo, Carezza
The Haydn Orchestra’s string ensemble, conducted by Marco Mandolini, performs a diverse program for strings. The concert opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s haunting Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K. 546, a work of dramatic intensity.
This is followed by Franz Schubert’s charming and dance-like 5 German Dances with Coda and 7 Trios, D 90, which embody Viennese lightness and elegance. Gustav Holst’s colorful St. Paul’s Suite, Op. 29 No. 2 features lively rhythms and folk elements.
The concert concludes with the spirited Concerto per archi by Nino Rota, which combines Italian melody with playful lightness.
