The ascent is from the Sonnegg bridge via the forest road or via the shortcuts through the forest to the Breitenebenalm. Continue via the Unterwandalm in the direction of the Sonntagskogel. Arrived at the reservoir, continue towards the Gernkogel and over the Gaisterberg to the gondola lift. You take the gondola towards the valley.

You can take a break here at the Breitenebenalm, Maurachalm, Unterwandalm, Ruheoase Speicherteich Sonntagskogel, Gernkogelam, Buchauhütte or Obergassalm.

For both tours you take the gondola to the valley (last descent 5 pm) from the valley station you walk 5 minutes to the hotel.
