The exhibition focuses on Austria's last Danube shipyard. There, modern machine production and industrial, human labor are closely linked. Over a period of one and a half years, the Austrian artist accompanies the work processes in this plant and shows the aesthetic collaboration between humans and machines in her documentary-artistic work.
In doing so, she makes clear that work and the place of work are also social spaces that are shaped by employees* and entrepreneurial tradition in equal measure. In her exploration of the theme of work, artist Katharina Gruzei approaches central questions of the working world: What is the future of work and what is the past? How do machines and technologies shape the world of work and who determines the work process?
