The Gerlitzen Alpe is the local mountain on Lake Ossiach and a popular excursion destination for nature and mountain lovers. The Kanzelbahn cable car takes you up the mountain in comfort from Annenheim. An impressive 360-degree panorama awaits you at the top with views of Lake Ossiach, the Julian Alps and many other Carinthian mountains.
In summer, there are numerous hiking trails, alpine huts and adventure offers for families. Particularly popular are leisurely panoramic hikes, the Kids Bike Park and various play and adventure stations for children. Those who like it more active can also use the Gerlitzen for paragliding or mountain biking.
đź•’ Summer operation of the mountain railroad:
The Kanzelbahn usually runs daily from around 09:00 to 17:00 in the summer season from May to October (times may vary slightly depending on the month and weather).
đź’ˇ Tip: It's worth taking a short walk from the mountain station to the summit - one of the most beautiful views over Carinthia awaits you there. Ideal for a leisurely half-day excursion into the mountains.
