Hiking through the solar system on the Gerlitzen

The "Path of the Planets" is a very special themed trail on the Gerlitzen Alpe: here you not only hike through the beautiful mountain world, but also through our solar system. Along the way, the sun and the planets accompany you with exciting information boards and short, child-friendly explanations - perfect for families who want to combine nature and knowledge. In addition, small digital augmented reality stations provide a modern experience in the middle of nature.

The trail runs along the Kanzelhöhen circular trail and offers impressive views of the Carinthian lake landscape time and again. The destination is the solar observatory on the Kanzelhöhe - a special place with great views and an exciting atmosphere.

Tour details:

Start: Kanzelhöhe parking lot (Gerlitzen Alpe)

Destination: Kanzelhöhe solar observatory

Length: approx. 2.5 km

Metre difference in altitude: approx. 50-60 m

Duration: approx. 1 hour

Trail: easily accessible panoramic and forest trail

Access from Seecamping Berghof:

By car to the Kanzelbahn valley station in Annenheim in approx. 10-15 minutes.

Then take the Kanzelbahn in approx. 20 minutes up to the Gerlitzen Alpe.

Tip: The trail is ideal as a short excursion on the mountain - especially on clear days, when a fantastic panoramic view of Lake Ossiach, the Julian Alps and the Karawanken mountains opens up at the top. Also perfect in combination with a short stop on the Gerlitzen.
