Millstatt Advent Window

In Millstatt am See, a lovingly decorated “Advent window” opens every day during Advent.

Various private homes and businesses invite neighbors, friends, and guests to enjoy a small drink—a convivial gathering that brings warmth and a sense of community to the pre-Christmas season.

Voluntary donations from visitors benefit charitable causes in the region. In this way, the event uniquely combines tradition, social interaction, and community service.

An atmospheric highlight among the events at Lake Millstatt and an example of charity in action in Carinthia.

Whether amid winter snowfall or a sparkling starry sky—each Advent window that opens tells its own little Christmas story and invites you to pause and reflect.
