Christmas Time at the Basilica – Margrets Musi & Schnodabixn

Five young musicians from Styria who are passionate about music—united in Margrets Musi and the Schnodabixn—will come together to present an atmospheric Advent and winter concert evening. For many years, both ensembles have been united by their joy in singing and making music together, as well as by a close artistic collaboration.

With their program “Weihnochtszeit,” they present a varied musical journey through the Advent and Christmas season. In addition to traditional folk music from the Alpine region, the program features original compositions as well as songs from various regions of Austria, Bavaria, and South Tyrol. Classic Christmas tunes such as “Adeste Fideles,” the nativity song “Gebet der Engel und Hirten” (Prayer of the Angels and Shepherds), and the well-known “Petersburger Schlittenfahrt” (St. Petersburg Sleigh Ride) also enrich the program.

Furthermore, with the songs “Weihnochtszeit” and “Winterwunderlaund,” the musicians showcase a modern, jazz-infused side of their artistry. The concert is complemented by cheerful and contemplative texts by Austrian authors.

A musical evening full of warmth, a variety of sounds, and a pre-Christmas atmosphere.
