Detalles

On December 4, 2025, a spooky spectacle will take place in Seefeld’s pedestrian zone. Starting at 6:00 p.m., 40 Tuifl groups from Austria will come together to create some truly spine-chilling moments.

Every year, visitors and locals alike look forward to seeing these dark figures bring this special Seefeld tradition to life. Younger spectators, in particular, can usually hardly wait for the Krampuses to emerge from their hiding places and reveal their masks. But by the time the first muffled bells and the cracking of the rods can be heard near the Hotel Klosterbräu, even the last little rascal falls silent and happily seeks shelter behind Mom and Dad or another strong companion. Because that’s when the Tuifl and Krampuses are on the loose in Seefeld!

Tradition with a Rod, Moderation, and Purpose

Anyone who has ever experienced a Krampus parade in Seefeld knows that things here are a bit more traditional than at many other Krampus parades. Although Bengal fires are lit and there are small theatrical performances, the Tuifl remain true to the Krampus spirit and will occasionally reach for their rods to give one or two brave and cheeky souls a good whack. “Of course, they don’t hit hard,” explains Daniel (Danny) White, who has been organizing the Krampus festivities in Seefeld for about 15 years. Everything is done in moderation and with a purpose. “But especially for the younger visitors, the thrill should remain—will the Krampus catch me today or not?”

Groups from far and wide

Thirty groups participated in 2025, some of which came from far away. The Seefeld Krampus festivities thus enjoy an excellent reputation not only among visitors but also in devil-worshipping circles.

Finale and after-party in the Kurpark

The traditional finale of the Krampus festivities takes place in the Seefeld Kurpark. There, the groups are each introduced individually with a short performance. Afterward, there’s an after-show party where, with DJ music, food, and drinks, no one has to be scared anymore.

Organizer Danny White shares more about Krampus, the tradition, and the Seefeld Krampus Festival on our blog: blog.seefeld.com.
