Hike to the summit of Zamangspitze

This tour combines an alpine experience with a relatively moderate climb. The trail itself offers impressive views of the Montafon mountains even before you reach the scenic ridge section. With a little luck, you may encounter ibex in their natural habitat along the way. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required, but you’ll be rewarded with an impressive panorama of the Silvretta, Verwall, and Rätikon ranges. The tour takes place only in stable weather conditions; otherwise, the hiking guide will decide on a suitable route on-site.

Meeting point: 9:30 a.m. Grasjoch Bahn valley station, St. Gallenkirch

Route: Hochalpila Bahn mountain station – Wormser Hut – Kreuzjoch – Zamangspitze summit – Zamangalpe – Grasjoch Bahn mountain station

Duration: approx. 5.5 hours (walking time only: approx. 3 hours)

Ascent and descent: Ascent approx. 270 m, descent approx. 700 m The ridge hike to the Zamangspitze is spectacular but doesn’t involve much elevation gain. It is a leisurely hike with magnificent panoramic views of the Montafon.

This tour takes place only in good weather.
