Villach Church Festival

From July 26 to August 2 2026, Villach will be all about traditional costumes, tradition, and genuine Carinthian joie de vivre: The Villach Kirchtag is Austria’s largest traditional festival—and you can feel the excitement right here at our campground!

During the Kirchtag, Villach’s downtown area offers traditional music, culinary specialties, colorful traditional costumes, a large amusement park, and a lively atmosphere.

The most important details at a glance:

It starts on Sunday, July 26 with a festive church service at 10:00 a.m. in the Stadtpfarrkirche

Followed by 11:30 a.m.: Traditional beer tapping ceremony at Rathausplatz

Starting Tuesday, the rides, market stalls, and festival tents open daily from around 5:00 p.m..

Children’s Kirchtag daily starting at 10:00 a.m. at Hans Gasser Platz.

On Saturday, August 1, there will be a large traditional costume parade in downtown Villach starting at 3:00 p.m.
