The Gartenhof is located in the heart of a vast natural and cultural landscape in Waiern near Feldkirchen. Fourteen men with disabilities grow high-quality, certified organic vegetables on this property, which are sold in the farm’s own store. The surrounding meadows, forests, and streams also serve as a peaceful retreat for both the clients and visitors to the farm store.
This project is undoubtedly one of the most sustainable initiatives offered by Diakonie de La Tour. It demonstrates that valuable things grow not only in the soil but ultimately within people as well. The Gartenhof has evolved into an organic hub and is attracting more and more visitors. It’s a place where people with and without disabilities interact quite naturally.
In the farm’s own store, visitors can purchase the vegetables grown on-site, as well as a wide variety of herbs. The produce grown at the Gartenhof is sold directly from the farm every Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., from early July through early November. Products from local farmers are also available.
