The particularly impressive location at the end of the valley, the large masses of water and the extraordinary drop height of 380 meters over three steps make the Krimml Waterfalls an impressive natural spectacle. They are also the fifth highest waterfalls in the world.

The Waterfall Trail

A 4 km long path created by the Austrian Alpine Association (ÖAV) leads up close to the natural spectacle of the Krimml Waterfalls with numerous vantage points and pulpits. It takes only 10 - 15 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the lowest waterfall.

With a drop height of 380m, the Krimml Waterfalls are a unique natural remedy for allergies and asthma. As early as 1808, country doctor Wolfgang Oberlechner recommended that his patients suffering from various illnesses spend time in the fine spray of the Krimml Waterfalls. In several clinical studies, the Paracelsus Medical Private University succeeded in scientifically proving the healing effect of the Krimml Waterfalls on allergies and asthma.
