The Dolomites: Strudelkopf (2,307m)

One of the most enchanting areas of the northern Dolomites is the vast landscape of the Prato Piazza.

Would you like to see the Three Peaks from a different, special perspective? Then our destination for today, the Strudelkopf, is just the thing. On this easy hike, a breathtakingly beautiful view of the Dolomites is captivating: the Three Peaks, the Hohe Gaisl, the Seekofel, the Cadini group, Monte Cristallo, the Tofana or the Marmolata...you don't know where to look first.

But also historically this place has a lot to offer: in the first world war a very fought over area, an Austro-Hungarian construction (restored in the last years) served to secure the Pragser valley. And at the Strudelkopf you will find the Heimkehrer-Kreuz (homecoming cross), erected by the Pustertal front-line fighters to commemorate their fallen comrades.
