Very rewarding 2 summit mountain tour to the most beautiful panoramic peaks in the upper Vinschgau Valley. The meeting point for this tour is the large parking lot at the sports field in Goldrain. We drive together in our own car to the upper Vinschgau Valley (approx. 35 min). This mountain tour starts directly from the picturesque mountain village of Matsch, initially via the Almenweg trail, which initially runs westwards with a slight incline. After approx. 1 hour we reach a forest clearing where we hike through beautiful open alpine pastures. We are not far from the tree line and can already enjoy magnificent views of the valley. After the somewhat steeper ascent to the summit, we reach the first summit cross at 2,474 m where we are rewarded with fantastic views of the valley. We then reach the next, even more scenic summit with summit cross at 2,324 m via the wide and unexposed connecting ridge in around half an hour. After an invigorating summit break (own provisions) and a magnificent view of the Venosta Valley Oberland, we then descend via the sun-exposed southern slope, the Ochsenberg, back to the starting point of this mountain tour.
