The Braies Lake is also called the "Pearl of the Dolomite Lakes" and is located in the Braies Valley of the same name at an altitude of 1,494 meters. The emergence of the emerald green mountain lake is due to a natural dam as a result of a mudslide. The lake is dominated by the imposing massif of the Seekofel (2,810 m). It is the starting point of the Dolomites high trail no. 1. It is also part of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park.
