Enjoy an extraordinary bathing experience in the Mönchstube—either in a wooden box or inside a hollowed-out fir tree trunk.
Just come see us in your bathrobe—we’ll outfit you with white pants, a white neck cloth, and a white cap for your bath.
Cordula Bosch will personally attend to you and, together with the Mönchstube team, ensure an all-around relaxing break.

Fir Honey Bath
Price per person. Additions of silver fir, mountain pine, and honey revitalize when you’re exhausted and restore your strength. The bath stimulates the function of the central nervous system and blood circulation. It also relieves muscle tension.
Fir Herb Bath
Price per person. Carefully selected herbs from the Black Forest are blended together to create a soothing, fragrant infusion that is stirred continuously into the bathwater. The body is exfoliated with white chalk and river pebbles, and the shoulders and neck are gently massaged in the bath. Relieves stubborn tension.
Mönchstuben Bath
Price per person. A bath in a wooden tub based on the monks’ tradition. The body is cleansed with salt and a mixture of salt and sea mud. The added mineral salts and trace elements are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and gradually distributed throughout the body. The back is gently patted with hot herbal compresses and pampered with a short monastic massage. The scent of lavender, chamomile, roses, lemon, and camphor has a deeply relaxing effect, and after the bath, you’ll feel as though you’ve just returned from a relaxing vacation.
Monastery Beer Bath—especially for men!
Price per person. Even the monks of old knew about the healing properties of beer baths—both externally and internally. They bathed in hops and malt and, of course, in the famous brewing water from the Black Forest. During this bath, the skin is rubbed with a paste made of chalk and pebbles, leaving it soft and smooth as a baby’s skin. Your back receives a gentle “monastic massage” in the tub, and of course, the “Little Monk” is a must-have part of the experience.
Beichtelbad—especially for women!
Price per person. The Beichtel bath is infused with a very pleasant, fresh scent of lemon, grapefruit, and lemongrass. Orange blossoms adorn the water, and various oils nourish the skin, leaving it pleasantly soft. Your shoulders and neck are pampered with a massage in the bath. Fruit and beverages are served as culinary delights. A bath designed for relaxation and enjoyment.
Asian Monastic Bath
Price per person. Herbal bath based on the teachings of the monks at Wat Po in Thailand. You’ll bathe in carefully selected Asian herbs. Your back will receive a special Thai massage to relieve severe tension. The bath has a soothing effect on your entire musculature.
