The Feuerzangenbowle is a punch based on red wine.

After adding various spices and possibly fruit juices, a pair of "fire tongs" is placed on the punch bowl and a cone-shaped piece of sugar soaked in rum is set alight, which drips burning into the liquid.

The punch became famous thanks to the 1944 film Die Feuerzangenbowle starring Heinz Rühmann.
