Haltestelle des Bus Alpin Vrin Parvalsauns
Via Plaun Rueun 44, Breil-Brigels
This guided 2-day hike in a small group avoids the well-known access routes to the beautiful Greina plateau, which are often overcrowded in the high season. This requires a little more stamina and surefootedness, but is rewarded with seclusion and tranquillity! We have enough time to enjoy the landscape and vegetation of the plateau and stay off the marked trails. The start and end point of the hike is near Vrin in Val Lumnezia
Overnight stay in the Terrihütte SAC, at 2171 m above sea level, an ideal place to experience the Greina in the afternoon and morning hours
Requirements:
The two hiking days are within the T3 difficulty level of the SAC scale. Sure-footedness is a prerequisite, as we are often on pathless terrain. In bad weather, the route can be adapted to ensure safety at all times.
Equipment:
Hiking equipment with good, sturdy hiking boots, suitable clothing for two days and good wind and rain protection is required. Hiking poles are recommended.
The overnight stay in the SAC hut includes dinner, breakfast and tea for the hike. A hut sleeping bag is mandatory for the hut. The overnight stay is organized by the hiking guide, but is not included in the price.
Packaged lunch for the second day can be purchased at the Terri hut.
Number of participants:
The tour takes place with a minimum of 3 people. Maximum number of participants is 7 people
Price:
CHF 240.00 per person,
Excluding travel by public transport and Alpine bus,
Excluding overnight stay in a hut (CHF 99.00 / CHF 85.00 for SAC members)
Detailed description:
Day 1: We start near Puzzatsch, the last hamlet in Val Lumnezia. From there, we head higher in a beautiful valley over Alp Ramosa, where the marked trails soon end and we move across alpine meadows in pathless but not difficult terrain. After Fuorcla Ramosa, the terrain becomes rockier and after a further 200 meters we reach Piz Tgietschen (2858m). From this summit, the view opens up to the south and we enjoy our first phenomenal view of the Greina plateau. After a short descent from the summit, we reach another saddle, descend from there to the plain, cross the spectacular suspension bridge and follow the marked trail to the Terrihütte SAC (2171m), where we will spend the night.
Hiking time (without breaks) approx. 6 hours, Distance: approx. 10km, ascent: 1300m, descent 750m
Day 2: From the Terrihütte, we first cross the ridge of the Muot la Greina, an elevation with beautiful views, then cross the plateau with its characteristic river meanders and enjoy the vastness of the unique landscape. After a short ascent through the Val Canal, we reach Laghet la Greina, a lake at over 2500m at the foot of Piz Terri, the highest mountain in the area. If you feel like it, you can bathe your feet in the ice-cold water and experience the last remnants of the former Greina glacier first-hand. On our further ascent, we reach Fuorcla Blengias (2718m), the highest point of the second day. Partly pathless, but always on trails across the beautiful meadows of Alp Blengias, we reach the hamlet of Vanescha, the end point of this 2-day tour.
Hiking time (without breaks) approx. 6 hours, Distance: approx. 13.5 km, ascent: 870 m, descent 1250 m
