Castle tours

You can move freely around the castle grounds at any time. Flyers with a brief description of the castle's main features are available in the lobby of the restaurant.

However, if you would like to find out more, you are welcome to book a one-hour guided tour. You will also be admitted to rooms that are only accessible on certain occasions.

You will learn about the history of the castle complex and why Apel Vitzthum, who is often referred to as a "robber baron" and "fire master", was later rehabilitated. You will also learn about the more recent history surrounding the creation of the non-profit Tannroda Castle Foundation.
