Helpful facts

This varied hike takes you through a fascinating landscape at the foot of the Latemar: from wide alpine meadows and mystical rock labyrinths to a hidden lake in the middle of the forest. Perfect for an eventful day in the Dolomites!

Tour description:

Our tour starts at the Tiers cable car, which takes us comfortably to the Frommer Alm. From there, bus no. 186 takes us to the Nigerstraße junction, where our hike starts on foot. We follow the hiking trail that leads us across the idyllic Latemar meadows. These extensive alpine pastures offer us fantastic views of the Dolomites and invite us to take a short break to enjoy the surroundings. We continue into the famous Latemar labyrinth, one of the highlights of the hike. Our path winds its way between the gigantic boulders formed by a prehistoric landslide. After the labyrinth, we reach the Mitterleger, a picturesque mountain meadow. From there, we hike on to the Mittersee, a hidden forest lake that is a real highlight, especially in the early summer months. Lake Mittersee is a seasonal lake and does not have water all year round. The Mittersee is idyllically situated in the middle of the forest and offers a magical atmosphere. From Lake Mittersee, we descend further to the historic Grand Hotel Carezza, where we end our hike in a relaxed atmosphere. From here, we take the bus back to the Frommer Alm, where the Tiers cable car takes us back to our starting point.
