Hike with views - to the Blicknick!

Guided hike with the Schwäbischer Albverein:

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Guided by Günter Swiadek, the trail runs the first few meters along the Jakobsweg, but then in the direction of Möggenweiler. In Möggenweiler, the trail leads across the Vogelsang parking lot, past the historic water reservoir and along a gravelled forest path towards the "Panzerwiese", a wonderful vantage point that is used by many local families as a tobogganing meadow in winter. Past the tennis courts over the Wilhelmshöhe, we then walk a few kilometers along the Trimm-Dich path, also steadily ascending through the forest up the Gehrenberg, also partly over unpaved (somewhat slippery when wet) forest paths. But once out of the forest, the overwhelming view from the "Gehrenberg slide" compensates for all the effort. From there, after a total of about 6 km, it is only a few hundred meters to the Gehrenberg tower.

After about 6 km we will arrive in about 2 hours.

Once arrived, a very special little event awaits us as a reward for our efforts, an antipasti and Aperol vendor and Conte's ice cream truck await all hiking enthusiasts.

+ RETOUR:

At about 16.00 we will drift on a direct path along a beautiful natural path towards our starting point: about 3 km in about 40 minutes.

Participation in the hike is voluntary and free of charge, it will be cancelled at most in case of continuous rain or stronger wind (because of the dangers of the forest). Parking is free of charge at the ex-inn Traube in Steibensteg.

The Swabian Albverein, local group Markdorf is very happy to be able to realize our hiking passion together with our members, guests and all other interested people on this day.

Out into the nature and at the fresh air in movement is the slogan on the ACTIVE IN THE NATURE DAY in completely Markdorf.

Many events have the Gehrenberg tower as a starting point or destination: from 12 to 16 o'clock, various stands with antipasti, Aperol and ice cream are waiting for your picnic blanket. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the breathtaking view over the lake!

PARALLEL EVENTS:

"Clean up in hiking gear": clean up the hiking and field trails at Gehrenberg. Pick up a trash collection kit at the Tourist Info during the week or hike off on your own, packed with gardening gloves and an old trash bag.

"Stadtradeln" action: register and collect kilometers for our city in the period from May 6 to 23: www.stadtradeln.de/markdorf
