Guided hike through the Latemar labyrinth

The Latemar shows its special side between open alpine pastures and mighty boulders. A hike that combines natural history, exercise and quiet places in a pleasant way.

Tour description:

We start with bus 186 and travel to the Nigerstraße junction, where our hike begins. From there, we follow the hiking trail across the wide Latemar meadows, which impress with open alpine pastures and beautiful views. We then reach the famous Latemar labyrinth, where the path winds its way between mighty boulders from a prehistoric landslide. After the labyrinth, we hike on to the Mitterleger and finally reach the Mittersee, a seasonal forest lake with water depending on the time of year. From there, we descend to the Grand Hotel Carezza and return to Tiers by bus.

Ascent: approx. 400 m

Descent: approx. 450 m

Distance: 10.5 km

Difficulty: Technically moderate hike, good basic fitness and surefootedness required

Useful information / What you should bring

Alpine footwear and clothing suitable for hiking, rain jacket, sun cream and headgear, water bottle;

Eventual tickets for mountain lifts and lunch are not included.

The guest pass for the use of public buses is available free of charge for our guests at reception.

We recommend the 3 in 7 or 5 in 7 Mountain Pass. This allows you to conveniently use the various exit facilities in the area. The mountain pass is available at the tourist office and at the Tiers cable car.
