Dairy Lehern

Learn the secrets of the holes in the cheese during a tour of the Information Center for Allgäu Dairy Farming and Cheese Craft.

Here you will learn everything about the production of Allgäu mountain cheese and Allgäu Emmental from the master cheesemaker.

On the subsequent tour of the show farm, you will gain interesting insights into traditional, artisan cheese production and a look into the "glass cheese maturing cellar".

Guided tours:

01 November to 30 April Tue + Thu 1.30 pm

01 May to 31 October Mon - Fri 1.30 pm + additionally Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat at 11.00 am

Registration is not mandatory.

To get to the dairy, take the B17 through Füssen in the direction of A7 / Hopfen am See. Before the A7, take the turn-off to Hopferau on the right-hand side and follow the main road. The alpine dairy is located in the small hamlet of Lehern directly on the main road on the left-hand side (Lehern 158, 87659 Hopferau).
