Details

South Tyrol is an alpine paradise, and the Gsieser Valley is well renowned for its large number of managed huts, all of which can be reached via great hiking trails that lead through a wide variety of forests.

The starting point is the Talschußhütte in St. Magdalena. From here we follow the signposts nr. 12/13 for a few minutes and then turn right and ascend alongside the “Pfoi” stream, taking the shortcut "Pfoirisse". When we reach the “Pfoi Alm” we walk long the “Pfoi” Valley. A beautiful panoramic view accompanies us on our way. When we arrive at an old ruin, we turn left and hike down a beautiful path to our destination for the day: our house alp: “Uwaldalm”.

Ater this effort, we more than earned our alpine Aperitivo. After a short break we return back to the Hotel Quelle.

Walking time: approx. 4.5 hours

approx. 900 metres altitude difference

Level of difficulty: difficult hike

Refreshment stop: “Uwald Alm”
