Hike Steinernes Tor

The Steinerne Tor is an alpine pass in the Rofan Mountains, located at an elevation of 1,955 hm. It is formed by a striking notch in the rocky ridge connecting the Klobenjoch and the Streichkopf.

Starting at the Achensee Adventure Park, the hike follows a forest road and hiking trail, first passing the Kotalm Niederleger and the Kotalm Mitterleger (neither of which are staffed). The trail continues along the red mountain trail to the Kotalm Hochleger and the Steinernes Tor. The return trip follows the same route or goes via the Dalfaz Alm. The hike offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, is of moderate difficulty, and requires strength, stamina, and sure-footedness.
