A journey through 800 years of Oppenheim history
The Aha!!! Theater Nierstein presents a humorous and musical revue to mark the town's anniversary. The premiere will take place on November 22 in the Old District Court.
On the occasion of the celebrations for "800 years of Oppenheim's town charter", the Nierstein Aha!!! theater invites you on a special journey through time. Under the title "800 years of Oppenheim town charter - a revue of moments", a play will premiere on 22 November at 19:30 in the courtroom of the old district court, bringing the town's rich history to life in entertaining scenes.
At the invitation of the town of Oppenheim, the ensemble has dug deep into the archives under the direction of theater educator Sinja Baier. Together with Johanna Stein, Otto Schmuck and Franz Kram, historical material from eight centuries was sifted through and turned into a varied stage program. "This resulted in little moments that particularly appealed to us," says the theater.
The audience can look forward to a lively evening that takes them from the town's elevation 800 years ago to Martin Luther's legendary night at the "Zur Kanne" inn and modern encounters in the alleyways of Oppenheim. The revue is musically accompanied by Ulli Becker and Fritz Vollrath, who lend the historical scenes a contemporary touch.
The performers are: Regina Balser, Liselotte Decker, Roswita Estenfeld, Ursula Geißenhöner, Gudrun Gräser, Gisela Honens, Edeltraud Miczka, Renate Müller, Ingeborg Nimmer, Gabriela Richter, Annette Rudolf-Siebers, Christian Spengler and Klaus Valentiner-Branth.
The Aha!!! theater, an initiative of the Nierstein senior citizens' office, has been in existence since 2015 and enjoys great popularity. The 14-member senior citizens' theater group meets weekly to discover the joy of acting and develop their own plays under professional guidance. The project is supported by the Dr. Wegener Foundation.
