Workshop: plastering with clay

The Waldhotel am See, built in 1953 as a vacation home for forestry workers, shines in Berlin-Schmöckwitz with an authentic GDR look. Since 2020, the premises have been modernized and new offerings have been set up for use by hotel and day guests. The boathouse on the lake is being converted into an event space by Fabian and Elmar using ecological materials.

We are already diligently plastering the base of the interior with lime plaster, and we are making the upper walls available for mudmural workshops. There are 4 one-day site workshops planned, in which the upper walls of the future event space will be plastered with mudmural. The workshop content is expected to be the same for all 4 dates, subject to change. You will receive an introduction to clay as a building material and hands-on instruction in the application of clay finish plaster by a professional. The workshop hosts Fabian and Elmar will offer food from the grill for 10 € per person if required.

The workshop is aimed at interested laymen, you don't need any previous experience! Bring clothes that can get dirty and sturdy shoes (and if necessary swimwear for the jump into the Zeuthener See...).
