Ice climbing for beginners - Gastein's frozen waterfalls

Gastein's frozen waterfalls are a hotspot for ice sports enthusiasts from all over the world.

Due to the altitude, the ice here is very compact. At 350 meters, one of the largest and most beautiful icefalls in Austria is located in the region. You can get to know the impressive sport of ice climbing on a course specially designed for beginners and take your first steps on the ice. An experienced ski and mountain guide provides the necessary know-how. The taster ice climbing course takes place on Mozart ice or in Böckstein, depending on the ice conditions.

Equipment:

Crampon-proof mountain boots if available, otherwise hiking boots or ski touring boots, never running shoes!

2 pairs of gloves and warm ski clothing.

Crampons, climbing harness and helmet can be hired for € 40.00.
