The Braunschweiger Hütte is located at 2759m in the Ötztal Alps at the end of the Pitztal Valley.

The hut was built in 1892 and was extended in 1932 and 1965. The hut is located on the E5 long-distance hiking trail.

Tyrolean delicacies are served and campsites are available.


Starting point and walking time:

At 2759 m, the hut is the highest accommodation on the European Hiking Trail No. 5.

From the chapel on the Rettenbach Glacier via the hiking trail to the Pitztalerjöchl parking lot. From there in early summer via a scree and snow field to the Pitztaler Jöchl. In late summer, take the road and continue via a marked snow field and path to the Rettenbachjoch. From the Jöchl via a beautiful hiking trail to the hut. (Walking time: approx. 2.5 h)
