A classic crossing over the Schlern high plateau. Wide alpine landscapes, striking ascents and long descents characterize this impressive mountain tour.
Tour description:
We start our hike at the cable car station in Compatsch and hike across the Seiser Alm in the direction of the Saltnerhütte. From there, we ascend to the Sciliar plateau via the tourist trail and reach the Sciliar House, where we take our lunch break. We then descend via the Thomastal to the Tschafatschsattel and follow the steep path through the Bärenfalle to Weißlahnbad.
Walking time: approx. 6.5 hours
Ascent: approx. 800 m
Descent: approx. 1400 m
Distance: 15 km
Difficulty: Technically moderate hike, good basic fitness and surefootedness required
Refreshments: Schlernhaus
Useful information / What you should bring
Alpine footwear and clothing suitable for hiking, rain jacket, sun cream and headgear, water bottle;
Eventual tickets for mountain lifts and lunch are not included.
The guest pass for the use of public buses is available free of charge for our guests at reception.
We recommend the 3 in 7 or 5 in 7 Mountain Pass. This allows you to conveniently use the various exit facilities in the area. The mountain pass is available at the tourist office and at the Tiers cable car.
