Ascent to Mount Stairs

The summit of Mount Scale gives us an exceptional view of the peaks of the "Magnificent Land," the basin of

Bormio and the Cancano dams.

Starting from Lago delle Scale, we follow several hairpin bends through the forest and arrive at a beautiful plateau where stands the

Fort, built by the Alpini between 1911 and 1912 to defend against the Austrians. From here in a few minutes you reach

the summit cross (2497m).
