"Silent Night: A Christmas Musical—A Sheet of Music from Heaven"

The True Story of a Global Success

“Silent Night, Holy Night”—a melody that spans the globe. In 1818, one of the most touching Christmas carols of all time emerged from a small church in Salzburg; today, it has been translated into over 300 languages and dialects.

But how did this global phenomenon really come about? What inspired Assistant Pastor Joseph Mohr and teacher Franz Xaver Gruber to compose a song for just two voices and guitar for that Holy Night in 1818?

This gripping musical by Hans Müller (libretto) and Georg Stampfer (music) delves into the moving story behind the song’s creation. It tells of friendship, destiny, and the power of silence in a noisy world. In a beautifully staged, heartwarming production, the origins of the song come to life and reveal how it became a timeless treasure for humanity.

A production that not only warms the heart but transports the audience right into the magic of that one night that would forever change every Christmas to come. A musical experience that embodies the true spirit of Christmas.
