It is not possible to cross the Fern Pass heading north or south. It is recommended to avoid the Fern Pass route on this day or to take a wide detour.
On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the B 179 Fernpass Road will be closed for approximately two hours due to additional planned gatherings. During the period from 9:45 a.m. to 12 p.m., the B 179 Fernpass Road must therefore be closed to all traffic in both directions (specifically in the Reutte/Katzenberg and Nassereith/Rastland areas).
Hahntennjoch Closure
During the same period, on August 1, 2026, from 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the L 246 Hahntennjoch Road will also be closed to all traffic to protect the public from potential detour traffic and to maintain traffic and supply security. It will therefore not be possible to bypass the Fern Pass via the Hahntennjoch. Exception: Residents living along the Hahntennjochstraße may use the road even during the specified closure times.
