Winter/snowshoe hike on the Seiser Alm

Experience the unique beauty of the Seiser Alm, Europe’s largest high-altitude alpine pasture, on a snowshoe hike through endless snowfields and enjoy spectacular views of the Dolomites.

Tour Description:

After taking the Seiser Alm Cable Car up the mountain, we’ll start our hike in Compatsch and hike via Panorama and Tschapit toward Goldknopf. If desired, we can stop for lunch at the Mahlknechthütte, followed by a sled ride down to Saltria; alternatively, we can stop for lunch at the Almrosenhütte, followed by a hike to Saltria. Afterward, we’ll return by bus and cable car to the starting point.

Meeting point

Seiser Alm Bahn valley station at 9:20 a.m.,

departure by bus route 176 from Tiers Brunnenplatz at 8:46 a.m.

Hiking time: approx. 4 hours

Ascent: approx. 450 m

Descent: approx. 450 m

Difficulty: Technically easy hike; good basic fitness required

Snowshoes, crampons, hiking poles, and backpacks can be rented at the front desk

Any lift fees are not included
