Excursion to the Conturines Peak – via ferrata

The hike begins at the Fanes refuge. From there, continue south, taking the shortcut or following the road to the Limo Pass (2,174 m). The trail continues past Lake Limo to a small barracks and then descends slightly towards the Gran Fanes mountain hut. From there, continue south on trail no. 11 across the Gran Fanes plateau until just before the Tadega Pass (2,157 m).

To reach the summit of Conturines, head right through the Vallon Lavares, passing the dried-up Conturines Lake. The trail winds beneath the southern walls of Lavarella, over scree, to the saddle south of Lavarella. From there, turn left (southeast) onto a well-marked trail that leads directly to the summit of Conturines. The climb follows a scree slope to the start of the via ferrata, which begins with a ladder. Continue uphill using ladders and wire ropes until you reach the summit, marked by a small wooden cross, via an exposed section.
