Winter hike to the fortress Altfinstermünz

Hike along historical trails and immerse yourself in the history of the Via Claudia Augusta. From the Hotel Kajetansbrücke, the culturally inspired tour leads upstream to the fortification Altfinstermünz. Winter gives the Inn Gorge a unique dress. In the chilling breeze, rock, water and flora present themselves in bizarre beauty. On the former Roman imperial road rises the border fortress with its striking fortified tower and hermitage including a passageway. The spirit of knights and smugglers is in the old walls, which open exclusively for hikers in winter. Secret rock passages, a natural cave and the historic Sigmundsegg tower bear witness to medieval charm, which is exciting to discover. The rustic Klausenschenke invites you to a hot drink and to take a relaxing breath at the historical site.
