Farmer's Autumn
The 5th season in Salzburg province begins!
The summer is coming to an end, the farmers return to the valley with their cattle and bring in the harvest one last time before winter: the farmers' autumn is ushered in! According to this year's motto: "from the garden to the plate", fruit from the local gardens is processed into jams, juices and schnapps; ham and sausages are smoked. And all these fresh products are offered for tasting and sale by the farmers at the numerous Bauernherbst markets in the beautiful province of Salzburg!
The time is not only a culinary delight, but also awaits with numerous festivals: It's time for a sociable "Hoagascht" (sitting together), dancing at farm festivals and wearing the festive costume. You should not miss it!
