The transhumance in Meransen has long been a tradition and has become a true South Tyrolean folk festival. Folk dance groups, traditional costume associations, Schuhplattler groups from near and far, the Meransen Riflemen’s Band, and South Tyrolean musicians take part in the procession with the decorated alpine cattle, which arrive in Meransen around 12:30 p.m.
ATTENTION!! The Street of Meransen will be closed more or less from 10a.m. to 12:30p.m. for the transit of the animals and all participants.
