Route description:

Drive by car into the Ellmautal valley - past the Hotel Lammwirt on the Güterweg Jaitlehen and continue on the forest road to the parking lot at the barrier - slight ascent on the forest road (trail no. 56A) through the forest to the Bichlalm, 1,731 m (approx. 2 h).

OR drive along the Ellmaustraße - first turn right onto the Thalgau Güterweg - drive to the Finsterwald farm - parking possibility. Ascent initially on a tractor path, then one-hour ascent on the steep forest path "Himmelsleiter" (path no. 56) to the forest road (path no. 56A). Continue along the forest road (no incline) to the Bichlalm, 1,731 m (total approx. 1 ½ to 2 h). Continue along trail no. 56 to the Remsteinkopf, 1,945 m (approx. 1 h).

Descent on the same path to the Bichlalm and from here the forest road or the Himmelsleiter. Above the Finsterwald farm, a marked trail connects the two starting points.
