Hike to the Haider Alm

Today we go to the Upper Vinschgau; together with Sonja we take the hotel bus to hotel bus to Schöneben am Reschen, where we start our hike. From the mountain station in Schöneben, a slightly ascending hiking trail leads to the tree line. Wonderful views of the green-blue Reschen Lake and the surrounding mountain landscape are offered, initially with the imposing glacier giants of the Weißkugel and later of the Ortler massif. Hiking trail no. 14 runs southwards from here. After a short initial section, the track (marked 9B) is replaced by a narrow path (no. 14) that runs along the slope with little difference in altitude. We are at an altitude along the tree line, so the view of the Reschensee and the Reschenpass opens up again and again, all the way up to the Inntal valley in the north and the Ortler group in the south. At the "Schönputz" rest area there are various tables and benches - ideal for eating the provisions you brought with you in your rucksack. We are now directly at the height of Graun, which we have a beautiful view of, behind which the Langtauferer valley rises up to the glaciers of the Weisskugel. The last section of the trail brings us to the Haider Alm. After a rapid descent on the scooters, we return to the starting point.
