Sunrise over the Tuxertal

Get up early for the sunrise tour

We take a cab to the Nasse Tux Alm at 1,843 m. From there, we take a leisurely hike to the beautiful Torsee lake and enjoy the sunrise. In midsummer, the shoreline covered in white flowering cotton grass makes the mountain lake a popular photo opportunity. On the tour, we learn more about alpine farming and the history of the Tux Valley. After taking some wonderful photos, we hike to the Ramsjoch and the summit of the Grüblspitze. From here, we descend to the Eggalmbahn cable car, which takes us back down to the valley in comfort. Included in our luggage are binoculars from Swarovski Optik and lots of tips for observing nature. At the end of August, the sun rises half an hour later, so we also start later.

Character: Medium-difficulty mountain hike with approx. 700 meters of ascent

Duration: approx. 7 hours; 4.5 hours of pure walking time
