Helpful facts

Telfes in the Stubaital was settled very early - around 1,700 BC. Finds from the early Bronze Age, which were discovered not far from this place, in the area of the Gallhof, suggest this. The main reason for this may be the fertile soils of the Telfer meadows. The name Telfes is also an indication of this.

It is derived from the Indo-Germanic language root "tellevo", which means "usable soil". Due to the location and the long exposure to sunlight, the grass can grow particularly well here. Even today, the Telfer meadows are used exclusively for agriculture and are among the most beautiful larch meadows in Tyrol. The abundant gentian blossoms in spring are particularly impressive.
