You can reach Zermatt by train within 3 to 4 hours from the international airports in the area such as Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Milan. You can find the timetable here.

By car:

Zermatt is a car-free resort. Access is only permitted as far as Täsch, where you will find various parking facilities. Private companies also offer a cab service to Zermatt. A shuttle train runs every 20 minutes from the Matterhorn Terminal to Zermatt in 12 minutes.
