Am Waldweg 105a, Achenkirch
Hike along a beautiful trail on the slopes of the Unnütz to the Köglalm at an elevation of 1,431 meters and enjoy the sweeping view of the Seekarspitze and the impressive Karwendel Mountains.
Following a charming red mountain trail, we reach the idyllically situated Köglalm. From there, a fantastic panorama unfolds before us, taking in Achenkirch and the mountain peaks along the western shore of Lake Achensee. Since the hut is already closed for its well-deserved winter break, we’ll enjoy the pure silence of the mountains here with a snack we’ve brought along. The return trip takes us on a leisurely walk along the forest road, past the “Kaiser-Maximilian-Rast” viewing platform, which invites us to make one last photo stop.
What to bring: Sturdy footwear (hiking boots), weatherproof clothing, and plenty of food and drinks, as the alpine hut is already closed.
Prerequisites: Good physical health, basic fitness, and sure-footedness.
Key details: approx. 4 hours walking time | Difficulty: easy to moderately difficult | Elevation gain: approx. 500 m
