Hike to the Düsseldorfer Hütte in the Zai Valley

Highlights: A fantastic panoramic view of the Ortler, Zebru and Königsspitze trio.

Directions:

Take the hotel shuttle to Sulden.

The Kanzellift takes us up to the top of the mountain, where the hike starts.

We cross several bridges and negotiate wild rocky terrain until we reach the Zaytal valley.

After the last, steeper section, we take a leisurely walk up to the beautifully situated Düsseldorferhütte, the destination of today's walk.

After a short stop at the hut, we walk back to the top station.

Behind the hut there are three small mountain lakes within a 5 to 20 minute walk. You are welcome to stop here before returning to the mountain station.

From the top we take the Kanzel lift back down to the valley station where our shuttle is waiting for us.

Requirements:

Moderately difficult hike, sure-footedness required.

Pure walking time:

3 hours

Height difference: approx. 400 m

Gear: ankle-high walking boots necessary, bring a water bottle, light raincoat recommended, don't forget sunscreen.

Cost of return with the Kanzellift: €17 p.p.

Departure: 10.00 am in the hotel lobby
