Max knows every rock here. And that’s exactly why it’s so much more fun with him.
We take the local bus to Alpe Eschbach—from there, we hike up to Einödsbach, Germany’s southernmost village. Anyone standing up here for the first time and seeing the Trettach, Mädelegabel, and Hochfrottspitze ahead of them will understand why Max keeps coming back. The trail continues across the Bacherlochbach and through a wide, quiet open space into the lower Rappenalptal valley. One of the most beautiful moments of the tour—promise. We’ll take a break at Alpe Buchrainer before heading back along the alpine trail to the bus stop.
