Spanish Riding School

The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is an institution steeped in tradition that is dedicated to classical horsemanship and works exclusively with Lipizzaner stallions.

It dates back to the 16th century and is located in the Michaelertrakt of the Vienna Hofburg.

The art of riding, also known as the "high school", lives on there in its historical form and was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2015.

Visitors can take part in guided tours of the stables and the riding hall and watch demonstrations or the so-called "morning work".

A guided tour usually takes place at 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00.
