Braunschweiger Hut

The hike to the Braunschweiger hut starts directly from the hotel. First we walk along the valley floor to the Gletscherstube and behind it then begins the climb to the Braunschweiger. This trail requires surefootedness, especially along the waterfall and in the upper area.

After about 3 ¼ hours we then reach the hut. Unfortunately, the hut is no longer open, so take something to eat and drink yourself! We continue across the glacier to the Pitztaler Gletscherbahn, where we then take the new Gletscherexpress back to the valley.

We need so-called "Grödel" (spikes) for the traverse over the glacier, the cost for renting them is € 5.

Do not forget the Pitztal Sommercard!

Level of difficulty: red, total 1400 Hm

Pure walking time approx. 5 ½ hrs.

Duration of the tour 7-7 ½ hrs.
