Natural jewel Jägersee & hike to Tappenkarsee lake

Just 4 km behind Kleinarl lies the Jägersee, an emerald green mountain lake in the nature reserve, which is an idyllic excursion destination for the whole family. A leisurely walk (approx. 45 minutes) leads around the lake and offers fantastic views of the head of the valley and the reflections in the water. Rowing boats can be hired on site to explore the lake from the water. A rewarding day hike to Tappenkarsee - the largest alpine cirque lake in the Eastern Alps - also starts from Jägersee. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach the high-altitude Tappenkarseealm via a path. The idyllic Tappenkarsee lake awaits hikers at the top, surrounded by rugged mountains, as well as a catered hut for refreshments. This excursion combines easy accessibility (Jägersee by car/bus) with an impressive mountain hike and is one of the nature highlights of the region
